Über Hercules
Hercules ist eine deutsche Fahrradmarke mit einer sehr langen und illustren Historie. Nachdem 1886 die Gründung des Unternehmens in Nürnberg durch Carl Marschütz erfolgt war, wuchs die Marke in den Folgejahren schnell an und produzierte auch Motorräder und Transporträder. Nachdem ein Großteil des Hercules-Werks im Zweiten Weltkrieg zerstört wurde, erlebte die Marke eine wahre Odyssee: Sie wurde von verschiedensten Eigentümern geführt und produzierte zwischenzeitlich sogar LKWs und PKWs. Im Nachkriegsdeutschland war Hercules mit der Herstellung von motorisierten Zweirädern (Mofas, Mopeds und leichte Motorräder) sehr erfolgreich; in den 1970er Jahren rüstete die Firma sogar die Bundeswehr mit Kradmeldemaschinen aus. 2014 schließlich erwarb die ZEG die Rechte an der Marke Hercules von der Accell Group, was zu einer Wiederbelebung der Fahrradproduktion führte. Heute stellt die Hercules GmbH hochwertige Zweiräder aller Art her und hat sogar Lasten- und Falträder mit und ohne elektrische Unterstützung im Sortiment.
Technologie
Hercules ist mittlerweile bekannt dafür, mit ihren E-Bikes den Nerv der Zeit zu treffen. So begannen sie früh damit, sogenannte E-SUVs zu vermarkten: Vollausgestattete Kombinationen aus E-Mountainbikes und E-Trekking- bzw. E-Citybikes, die neben ihrer Allroad-Fähigkeiten auch durch alltagstauglichen Komfort bestechen. Weiterhin sind sie einer der wenigen Hersteller, die Bikes mit verstärkten Rahmen und Komponenten anbieten, die in Kombination mit besonders starken Antriebssystemen ein höheres maximal zulässiges Systemgewicht erlauben und so auch schwerere Fahrer zulassen (erkennbar durch das Prädikat "XXL" und "HD").
